A sky diver accidentally dropped his Canon Rebel XT, a SLR, from 3000 feet high!

He was having fun with his gadgets, a video camera and a Canon Rebel XT, when suddenly his helmet came off!

He managed to grab his helmet, but his gadgets wanted to have their own sky diving experience, so they escaped and the gadgets nose dived instead.

Thank goodness these gadgets didn't crash on to anyone else's heads!

Digital Camera survives a sky diving crash!

On the right shows the amount of damage both equipment received.

For the video recorder, it met its end and it should be in heaven right now.

I didn't expect any less from the Canon Rebel XT. What are the chances for anyone or gadgets to survive a 3000 feet fall?

However, as you can see, the Canon Rebel XT literally survived! And the owner claims that it is still working well!

Talk about endurance, this plucky device surely didn't seem any like it!

On my hub, One year anniversary gift for boyfriend: Digital Camera, I suggested about giving a digital camera to your boyfriend or husband as an anniversary gift.

So if you are out of ideas about getting a digital camera, look no further; may this digital camera be a symbol of endurance and love between your love relationship!

And please do not try this at home! The owner didn't intentionally test the endurance of his camera.

Unfortunately,

The above Canon Rebel XT is more than 5 years old, so its not easy to find it in the market right now.

However, Canon has released a newer version digital camera of this Rebel series, the Canon EOS Rebel T1i. It has more functions, and much better performance than its predecessors.

The Canon EOS Rebel T1i has the following capabilities:

  • 15.1 megapixel CMOS sensor
  • DIGIC 4 Imaging Processor
  • 9-point Auto Focus
  • ISO settings up to 6400
  • Compatibility with Canon’s complete line of EF and EF-S lenses
  • HD video capture (This is a relatively new and great function.)
  • 3-inch Clear View LCD monitor

Anyway, the above digital camera guide is catered for ladies who are not into too much information or technicals. If you are looking for details, let me know in your comments and I will look for more resources about how to choose a digital camera.

Final words for this hub

This is an interesting scoop that I found in the Internet, that I just had to share about it.

Let me know if your digital camera is as plucky as the Canon Rebel XT above.

This hub is slightly edited and taken from BoyfriendGiftIdeas.org, where I share about boyfriend gift ideas to loving girlfriends and wives.

Canon Digital Rebel XT SLR 2 years ago

I've owned the XS for a year now and continue to be amazed. I loved this camera from the word go, but as time goes on I am learning how to get the most out its limitations. First off I upgraded the lens. The kit lens is surprisingly good and light weight, but I prefer the 17-40 f4.0 L. Shooting RAW gives you a lot of flexibility if you are processing in Lightroom or Photoshop, especially with the poor light balance performance (incandescent light is yellow). The body is small and compact, too small for my large hands, so I augmented it with a battery pack. This made a huge difference and provided extra stability. I also recommend an upgrade to the onboard flash. The 430EX II speedlite is a great fix to that. Spend your money on good lenses, this camera is great starter if you are accustomed to fully manual film SLRs, as I am.

I have had this camera for over five (5) years and I absolutely love it. I have never had any problems with this camera and it has performed amazingly. I have taken around 50,000 pictures with my Rebel and it is still going strong. I have the same original batteries that I got with my camera. My batteries have always lasted a long time before needing to be recharged; when I shot sports I could use one battery for roughly the whole day. Canon products are very high quality, which is what you can expect with brand name Japanese electronics. The Canon lenses are also fantastic; I have owned the high-quality standard 50/1.4, the portrait 85/1.8, the mid telephoto 70-200/4.0, the amazing 100/2.8 macro, and the wide-angle 17-40 L. These are all fantastic lenses to put on your Rebel, and you can rest assured that there is a whole range of Canon products to suit your needs. The only downside to these products is that they are quite expensive.
